Here are Alex Bowman’s Top 5 Things You NEED to Know to Cut Fat 🔥:
1. Calories in VS Calories out.
There is no way you will lose weight and cut fat if you're consistently in a calorie surplus. This means you need to balance the amount of calories (energy) you consume with the amount of calories (energy) you burn.
2. Food substitutes.
Much of what we eat is loaded with extra calories that we simply don't need. Whole eggs can be substituted for egg whites, saving yourself 5g of fat per egg. Powdered peanut butter has the same amount of protein as regular peanut butter with a fraction of the amount of fat. Ordering a chicken burger instead of beef will bring the fat content of that meal down quite a bit.
3. Track progress in some way.
Tracking your weight is the easiest measure. The human body can fluctuate up to 10lbs in a day from water retention and your food choices for that day. For this reason weigh yourself at the beginning of the day before you consume anything and after you use the bathroom. Don't weigh yourself at the end of the day or throughout the day.
4. Sleep.
Sleep better. Sleep more. Whatever you have to do to allow your body the time to recover effectively. Proper sleep is how we rebuild and repair. If you cut that process short you're only hindering yourself.
5. Don't drink your calories.
This is a new concept I’ve been trying personally and a great rule to follow for anyone on a weight loss journey. Calories consumed through drinks aren't typically very filling. Leading us to be hungry again very shortly and thus consuming more calories. Instead of a protein shake, eat that same amount of protein in whole foods like chicken. Instead of orange juice, eat an orange. It has more fiber and will also fill you up more. If you want to drink more than plain water, there are lots of calorie free options to curb that sweet tooth or take your mind off of your stomach. I love diet sodas. No calories, just sweet enough to satisfy and the carbonation is nice.
