How the Legend Kobe Bryant molded my mindset, transformed my work ethic, and influenced how I pursued my goals.

The Work In Workout

There’s a choice that we have to make as people, as individuals. If you want to be great at something, there’s a choice you have to make. We all can be masters at our craft, but you have to make a choice. What I mean by that is, there are inherent sacrifices that come along with that. Family time, hanging out with friends, being a great friend, being a great son, nephew, whatever the case may be. There are sacrifices that come along with making that decision.
— Kobe Bryant

Success requires sacrifice. Whether its time, money, sleep, friends, or experiences. Everyone who's achieved greatness had to sacrifice all of these things and more. When I first heard about Kobe's work ethic, I was absolutely blown away. The drive, the passion, the tenacity that he had for mastering his craft was absolutely out of this world. There would be moments where I was faced with an opportunity to make a choice to take action or procrastinate and I would ask myself, "What would Kobe do?...WORK!" Improve, hustle, learn, challenge, adapt, develop, push harder. Every choice compounds into the bigger picture we paint for ourselves. All it took was for me to decide how great I truly wanted to be for the choices and sacrifices to decide themselves.

Bigger Than Basketball

The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.
— Kobe Bryant

You can inspire the people around you just by relentlessly pursuing your goals. That's what Kobe taught me, that's what I told myself everyday, and that's what I tell every single one of my clients. Sharing the journey that you go through mastering your craft provides motivation to those that are also attempting to master theirs because it shows what is possible. Everyone is on their own path, going at their own speed, and creating their own vision that they have of themselves. Just like with Jordan for Kobe, seeing what is possible pushes you to work harder, smarter, and more efficiently in hopes to one day achieve somewhere close to what you envision. Kobe not only did that, but he inspired people all over the world to do the same just by being Kobe.

Your Legacy

I feel like it’s part of my responsibility to give back to the next generation, try to share and teach some of the things I have learned from some of the great players, great mentors, greats coaches that I’ve had.
— Kobe Bryant

I truly believe that the impact that you leave in this world defines your legacy. I dedicated the rest of my life to inspire and positively influence others in my own way. It’s my responsibility to share my knowledge, experience, and wisdom to help others grow and become the best version of themselves. The Mamba Mentality is inside you. You have the power to help change the lives of your family, your friends, and the people around you. Just like Kobe, your mindset and work ethic will determine how much of an impact you'll have. Kobe Bryant's legacy will forever live on in my mind and my heart.
