“I’m still in shock over being able to fit both legs into ONE leg of those jeans the other day... Most women cry in the dressing room over clothes that don’t fit because they are too tight, I was crying over clothes that were too big! I was in disbelief that I was ever actually that obese (yes let’s use that word people tend to cringe at) so I went in search of photographic proof. I found one of those rare photos I have of myself that isn’t from the waist or chest up. This photo is about 10 years old. I’ve made no secret that my journey has been over the last five years, my weight did not change much from this picture to when I actually started my journey.
For those of you struggling, remember change takes time. Make one small change and give yourself time to get used to it before you make the next one. If you could read my journal entries you would probably be surprised at how many changes and course corrections I made over these past five years. This is a constantly evolving process that will be uniquely yours.
Remember to be kind to yourself along the way, this process is hard enough without you beating yourself up when you stumble.”
